Welcome to my page! My name is Deandra Cornejo, and I'm a third-year student at California State University, Long Beach, pursuing my undergraduate degree in Public Relations with a minor in Marketing.
My approach to PR is rooted in creativity, authenticity, and thoughtful strategy. I'm passionate about storytelling and have a strong understanding of how visuals, messaging, and tone work together to shape perception and build connections with audiences. With experience in content creation, social media marketing, and media design, I bring a balance of innovative and analytical thinking to every unique project I take on.
As a current CSULB PR student, I’m eager to explore opportunities within integrated marketing communications. I’m especially passionate about combining digital media, content strategy, and visual communication to craft stories that resonate with diverse audiences and strengthen brand identity. I'm particularly drawn to contributing social connectivity to beauty and lifestyle brands.
As I begin to launch my early career, I’m committed to growing my skills, collaborating with innovative teams, and delivering impactful campaigns that leave a lasting impression.
My Path to PR
As a first-generation Salvadoran-American and the first in my family to pursue an undergraduate degree, I take pride in the path I’m paving and the roots that shaped me. As the oldest daughter, I’ve come to understand that my goals are deeply connected to my parents’ vision for a brighter future and an extension of their dreams. Each step I take and every milestone I reach is a reflection of their dedication and belief in me.
I started college without a clear sense of what I wanted to study or pursue as a career. To fulfill general education requirements, I took mass media communication courses. What started as a way to check off a requirement became something I truly connected with; a passion for how stories and strategy can form connections. Looking back, it makes sense. I was always crafting my own narratives, journaling, and finding new ways to express myself creatively. Through PR, I found a space where my creativity, communication, and storytelling could come together to cultivate impactful narratives. Through my education and professional experiences, I’ve learned to combine creativity and strategy to build meaningful connections and deliver messages that resonate with diverse audiences. I am passionate about using these skills to create work that not only engages but inspires.
